Description

Journeying Over Time with Clients Mentoring / CPD workshop with Ali Ashby

Over the past few years, I have been running an ongoing group for practitioners, focusing on working over time with clients.  As we have journeyed together as a group, participants have been working with deepening their own process and also developing the skills to deepen the therapeutic space that they can offer to their clients.

I am now starting a new group for 2018 and this initial workshop is a space to explore whether you would like to join this group.  It is open to practitioners interested in undertaking this kind of personal and professional journey and, as such, is a 'one off'.

Following the workshop, if you would like to continue, there will be a commitment to six further workshops spread out over the remainder of the year - dates and times to be agreed with the group at the outset (and my plan is for the group to run on a Thursday or Friday).

In particular, we’ll be exploring what we need to do as practitioners to help our clients develop the safety and trust necessary to journey more deeply. This includes witnessing and ‘holding’ our clients in all their aspects - giving them the space to explore themselves on many levels. The workshops will, in turn, offer ‘holding’ for participants as they explore their own process as a practitioner.

The on-going group will be focusing on:

  • finding what we need within ourselves to enable us to hold our clients
  • juggling addressing their 'symptoms' and exploring a client's deeper story
  • creating a safe space and holding clear boundaries, so that clients can develop the trust necessary to embark on a therapeutic process
  • what can get in the way of developing a relationship of trust & safety - and how to work through this
  • any issues that you wish to bring on this topic from your practice

Cost £45 for this workshop - booking essential please

A bit of background:

Before embarking on my CK training in 2002, I practiced as a therapeutic counsellor, having completed a certificate counselling course followed by a three year Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy training.  My training included intensive personal work and supervision over four years and so I have been blessed to have been guided through a deep personal process as well as holding clients in this way myself.

I have continued to build on my personal work since 2002 and, since autumn 2016, this has included experiencing cranio-sacral therapy regularly alongside my on-going kinesiology journey.

I'll be bringing this varied & rich experience to the workshops, sharing some of what I've embodied over the past 20+ years and how I weave the strands together in my practice.  I'm also looking forward to learning from participants in the group, as we weave together the different 'threads' that we all bring.
